Gravières Saint Victor church

Saint-Victor church (12th/15th century), originally Romanesque with a single nave, has undergone a number of transformations (addition of two side chapels, a massive bell tower and destruction of the façade to extend the nave).

Description

The apse is the only Romanesque part visible from the outside.
A large 14th-century sculpted stone panel depicts the Tree of Jesse (genealogy of Jesus, from Jesse, father of King David). Finally, a 17th-century Spanish high altar was donated by Empress Eugénie de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III. The church was listed as a historic monument in 1907.

Opening

All year round, every Tuesday and Thursday.
