Le châtaignier remarquable

This chestnut tree, with a circumference of 6.60 m, is a symbol of chestnut-growing in the Cévennes d'Ardèche. More than 300 years old, it produces an ancient variety of chestnut known as Dauphinenche.

Description

From the village of Saint-Jean-de-Pourcharesse you can admire a magnificent view over the valley, which then opens out onto the plain to the south.
