Explore the remains of coal mines and 20th century mining on mountain bikes. We'll reach the old mining sites via paths lined with remarkable engineering structures such as the Doulovy viaduct.
Description
Departing from the village of Berrias, this challenging hike takes you along forest tracks to the heights of the Cévennes foothills, before switching to the former mining sites of Doulovy. The descent from the picturesque village of Banne marks your return to the plain of the Chassezac, before taking to the limestone paths of the Bois de Païolive.
Don't hesitate to opt for an electrically-assisted full-suspension mountain bike so you can concentrate on the technical descents! A headlamp is recommended.
