Along an itinerary rich in breathtaking views and panoramas, the Cirques de Naves Geotrail allows you to discover superb and unspoilt landscapes between the slopes of the Cévennes and the Mediterranean scrubland. The circuit, which forms a loop, crosses a limestone area covering 18 million years of the Earth's history and then brings you closer to the metamorphic zone of the Massif Central that dates back more than 500 million years! The Orcières geological fault is what connects these two very different areas... All this geological history, which has major consequences on buildings, fauna, flora and agriculture, is explained at 11 rest-points equipped with information boards to combine a pleasant hike with enjoyable learning.
