Terra Cabra – Peytot, ferme et atelier d’affinage

Twenty goat cheese/Picodon AOP makers and ripeners are opening their doors onto their craftmanship; from their farm to your plate. Visit length: 50 minutes. Description

Located in Planzolles, above Peytot’s aging cellar and workshop, which gathers twenty cheese producers, this museum is an invitation to discover the goat cheese sector. The aging rooms offers a beautiful insight on the cheese making process and all of its surrounding activities: land maintenance, animal raising, milking, fabrication, and all the chemistry from drying to aging that leads to a Picodon. The museum reveals all the secrets to Picodon’s delicacy. Terra Cabra is informative, but also educational. Children will be able to use their senses to touch, manipulate, watch a documentary, play and answer questions. At the end of the visit, you will taste cheeses at different aging stages; from goat cheese to Picodon in the heart of the Ardèche’s Cévennes.
